University of Hawaii Hiram L. Fong Endowment

In 1997 the Hiram L. Fong Endowment in Arts and Sciences at the University of Hawaii was established to strengthen the Colleges of Arts and Sciences in all its endeavors and to provide students with an excellent education.

The following video was produced and shown at a dinner held at the Hilton Hawaiian Village which raised funds for the Endowment. The short video describes Hiram Fong’s early life and his determination to get an education. It focuses on his years at the University of Hawaii between 1927 and 1930 and his accomplishments after graduation. It is narrated by Michael W. Perry.
